Wedding in Galilee Film Poster

Description:

When a Palestinian village elder requests permission to hold a traditional wedding for his son, the presiding Israeli commander insists that he and his staff be guests of honor at the marriage ceremony. Despite the impending celebration, political tensions surface, and Khleifi adroitly examines the conflict and its impact on individual lives. One of the first films made in Israel to present an Arab perspective, Wedding in Galilee provides a complex portrait of Palestinian society and commentary on life under military occupation.

"Strong.... It forces the audience to decide whether to separate politics and art..." — New York Times

"Disturbing, lyrical.... Beautifully shot.... It's a cherishable film...." — Los Angeles Times
